Reference Questions

The State Library's Government and Heritage Library provides reference services to North Carolina state agency employees for work-related inquiries and libraries, students, and the general public for topics relating to North Carolina government, history, and data/demographics, U.S. Southern history, and genealogical research, and questions about any of the digital state publications in this collection. All inquiries and comments may be submitted via e-mail to slnc.reference[AT]ncdcr.gov.

Members of the general public with general reference questions pertaining to topics other than North Carolina government and heritage, Southern history, or Genealogy should contact their local public or school library (if a student). Links to some North Carolina libraries may be found in the NC Libraries Directory on the State Library's website.

Staff in the Information Services Branch should respond within two to four working days.
